Jim died August 7, 2004 from cancer in Florida.

Additional Information & comments provided by Bill Harmon , Class of 1961:
Jim was a well-liked member of the Class of 1961 and I considered him one of my best friends.  Jim a 1961 graduate of VAHS, lettered in football all four years in High School.  Lettered in Soccer his Junior and Senior years.  Home Room President 1.  Class Play 3.  Junior Council 3.  Many knew Jim by his nickname "Smiley"
