Rudolph "Rudy" Errol Aguirre, 54, of Licking, son of Ernest Aguirre and Jessica "Jean" Aguirre, was born March 24, 1947, in Calcutta, India. He died June 8, 2001, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield from an appar-ent heart attack.

He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as sergeant in 1993. While in the service, he served two tours in Vietnam, was in Desert Storm, Bosnia and various other countries.

He enjoyed old country music, playing pool and spending time with his friend, Eddie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are one daughter, Gwen Bellamy of Waynesville; two sons, Kevin Aguirre of St. Louis and Matthew Aguirre of Licking; two sisters, Elizabeth Giles and Mary Ann Aguirre; one brother, Daniel Aguirre; and four grandchildren.

Services were June 11 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with Father Daniel Hirtz officiating. Burial with full military honors was in the Patterson Cemetery.
