Overhead Photo Of School & Hospital, 1961
In 1958 the east wing of the Desandrouins
Hospital area was requisitioned
by TASCOM Headquarters to accommodate the American dependents of high school age in this
vicinity. Previously, students had to reside in a seven day dorm at Kaiserslautern in
order to fulfill their high school education. Finally Verdun High School opened its doors
on September 3, 1958. Verdun High School closed in 1968.
